Community Events!

The Star Fiddler’s Convention is one of the oldest “fiddling” events in the state. Since the 1930s, many residents and visitors alike have enjoyed hours and hours of music and dancing. The Convention is held each year during March.

Star also has been designated as a “Christmas Town” by the U.S. Postal Service. In the fall of each year, a contest is held for volunteers to submit entries of artwork to be used as the actual postal cancellation. Folks from across the U.S. send hundreds of Christmas cards to Star each year in December to be stamped with the special Christmas cancellation.

Star hosts its annual Christmas Parade each year on the second Saturday in December at 2:00 p.m. The longest running parade in the County is topped off on the evening of the Parade with the Little Miss Merry Christmas and Miss Merry Christmas pageants. Hundreds of folks visit our town on Parade day and evening to enjoy these events.
